The new Knightwick Races Course Preview Day
Wednesday 11th April 2018 2.00pm – 4.00pm

Trainers, Jockeys, Owners please join us to see for yourselves our wonderful new course in preparation for the main event on 29th April 2018. Refreshments will be available.

The team at Knightwick Races have been working overtime scouring the country for second hand running rail for the new course and although challenging we have had great support for grass roots racing from the racing world. A trip to Lambourn with a lorry and trailer brought back 3 furlongs of rail which originally formed part of Nicky Hendersons' training gallop and we are collecting 5 sets of wings and 1 furlong of rail from Hereford & Worcester racecourse on Thursday. We still have 1 furlong to collect from Jockey Club Estates which means we are almost done! Just need another set of wings!

The course has survived extremely well in the current harsh weather conditions – it is really quick to recover from the rain and snow so we are losing very little 'work' time at this very important stage of putting our new course together.

A glance at the courses used by the Clifton on Teme shows that Knightwick has a long association with our Point to Point. The new course has come into existence due to the generosity of John and Sue Walker, continuing the families association with the fixture as the old course at Horsham was owned by their late uncle David.
